Du Zhan Ao Tou

Du Zhan Ao Tou is also known as Guibei Mountain (Turtle Back Mountain). According to legend, in ancient times, the Fire God Zhurong and the Water God Gonggong fought. Gonggong accidentally broke the pillar that supported the sky, Buzhou Mountain. In an instant, the sky collapsed, the earth sank, the Milky Way poured down, and floods raged. Nvwa sympathized with the suffering people and repaired the heaven and earth with the Five-Colored Stones. Fearing that the repaired heaven and earth would collapse again, she ordered a giant turtle in the Taihang Mountains to carry the four poles of the heaven and earth. Since then, the heaven and earth have been sound and peaceful. The local people, in gratitude for the great virtue of the heaven, named the mountain transformed by the turtle as Guibei Mountain. Because it occupies this prime location exclusively, it is named “Du Zhan Ao Tou”. Throughout history, many celebrities and scholars have specially come here to pay their respects, praying for success, a prosperous career, and a long and healthy life.
