Tian Jing

Tian Jing, with its still reflection like a sinking jade and a picture-perfect inverted image, resembles a mirror of the sky. It is the best platform to view the Camel Peak on the Danxia Sky Road on the cliff. The cliff walls on both sides are lofty, standing thousands of feet tall, majestic and spectacular, everywhere showcasing the uncanny workmanship of nature, which is truly astonishing. During the Wei and Jin Dynasties, the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove traveled here and stopped to admire the canyon peaks. As this platform is located at a position where the Camel Peak is viewed from the side, only one peak is seen standing like a stone pillar, without the full view. Thus, they had a dispute about whether it was a peak or a ridge, which precisely corresponds the poem “It’s a range viewed in face and peaks viewed from the side, assuming different shapes viewed from far and wide” by Su Dongpo of the Song Dynasty 500 years later.
